Lead the end-to-end testing and validation of autonomous flight systems in both simulated and real-world environments. This role is responsible for designing comprehensive test strategies, overseeing execution at government and private test ranges, and ensuring the safe, efficient deployment of hardware and software solutions. You will define testing roadmaps, manage logistical resources, and directly influence the evolution of autonomy stacks through technical feedback and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the implementation of detailed test plans for complex aerial systems
- Direct ground and flight operations with full accountability for safety and compliance
- Coordinate logistics for test campaigns, including equipment, personnel, and range access
- Conduct initial data reviews to inform engineering improvements and rapid iteration
- Refine standardized testing methodologies and safety procedures

- Lead test reviews, hazard analyses, and mission planning sessions
- Produce clear documentation, including test reports, checklists, and communication plans
Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate high initiative and direct impact on test program development. A graduate degree in a technical aerospace-related field is required, along with formal training from NTPS, USAF TPS, Navy TPS, or a comparable institution. Experience in U.S. defense aviation acquisition, test, and evaluation is essential. You must be comfortable leading test conduct, writing technical documentation, and interfacing between technical and operational teams.
U.S. citizenship and an active security clearance are mandatory. Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time is expected. Preferred qualifications include military flight test experience, FAA Part 107 or private pilot certification, sUAS operations using QGroundControl, Pixhawk, or MAVlink, and prior deployment in field test campaigns.
