What You'll Do
Lead the design and implementation of cloud-native data architectures that support both batch and streaming workloads. You'll develop automated data pipelines to streamline ingestion, transformation, and delivery across structured and unstructured datasets. Own the full data lifecycle—from source to consumption—ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability.
Optimize data platforms for speed, concurrency, and cost efficiency, particularly within high-volume environments. Enable real-time analytics by integrating live data streams from APIs, telemetry, and applications. Support machine learning initiatives by preparing and provisioning high-quality datasets, integrating with tools like SageMaker and Snowflake ML, and applying MLOps standards.
Enforce strong data governance, security, and compliance practices, including adherence to GDPR and SOC 2. Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Analytics teams to align data solutions with strategic business needs, ensuring data is accessible, trustworthy, and actionable.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, with deep familiarity in cloud platforms—AWS and Snowflake strongly preferred
- Proven track record building scalable, real-time data systems
- Hands-on expertise with ETL/ELT automation, data modeling, and stream processing using tools such as Spark, Airflow, Kafka, or Kinesis
- Strong coding skills in SQL, Python, and at least one of Java or Scala
- Experience with cloud services including S3, Glue, Lambda, Athena, and Kinesis
- Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau or Looker for analytics delivery
- Knowledge of ML integration patterns and feature store architectures
- Understanding of data security, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance
