Octave is hiring a Senior Data Analyst

The Senior Data Analyst, Providers will play a central role in shaping how provider and clinical performance are measured and understood across the organization. Working closely with clinical, operations, product, and engineering teams, this individual will identify critical business challenges and design analytics solutions that support strategic growth and operational improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define high-impact analytics initiatives and deliver scalable reporting tools.
  • Design and maintain dashboards and self-service analytics platforms that empower teams to track performance and act on insights.
  • Translate complex clinical and operational data into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Build and manage robust data models within the data warehouse to ensure consistency, accuracy, and accessibility across departments.

Qualifications

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without company sponsorship. The role requires extended computer use, regular virtual communication via platforms like Zoom and Google Meet, and the ability to handle sensitive information securely on company-issued devices. Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds may be necessary.

Preferred candidates will have four or more years of experience in analytics or data science, particularly within healthcare or tech startups. Proficiency in SQL is required, along with hands-on experience analyzing large, complex datasets from diverse sources. Familiarity with clinical data systems—such as electronic medical records and patient assessment platforms—is highly valued, as is experience with data visualization tools like Tableau and Hex.

Additional assets include knowledge of dbt, Git, Python, or R, along with a strong grasp of healthcare quality measurement, patient outcomes, and regulatory standards like HIPAA. The ideal candidate is self-driven, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and skilled at aligning data insights with broader business objectives.

Technical Environment

The role leverages a modern analytics stack including SQL, Tableau, Hex, dbt, Git, Python, R, and integration with clinical data platforms.

Work Model

This is a hybrid position with responsibilities spanning both virtual and in-person clinics across multiple states. The schedule supports a mix of remote and on-site work.
