About the Role
The individual in this position will help maintain security compliance by coordinating audit activities, tracking controls, and ensuring alignment with industry standards and internal policies.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing for internal and external security audits
- Maintain documentation for compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001
- Track implementation and effectiveness of security controls
- Support evidence collection and response to auditor requests
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather compliance-related data
- Monitor compliance deadlines and follow up on outstanding items
- Update compliance tracking systems with current status and findings
- Help draft and revise security policies and procedures
- Conduct routine reviews to verify control adherence
- Identify gaps in compliance posture and recommend corrective actions
- Participate in compliance readiness assessments
- Assist with onboarding new compliance requirements
- Maintain records of compliance activities and artifacts
- Support incident response efforts related to compliance obligations
- Stay current with evolving regulatory and industry standards
- Provide updates to stakeholders on compliance status
- Work with external assessors during audit cycles
- Ensure documentation meets evidentiary standards
- Contribute to process improvements in compliance workflows
- Support training initiatives related to security policies
Nice to Have
- Entry-level certification such as CompTIA Security+ or similar
- Coursework or experience in risk assessment methodologies
- Familiarity with GRC platforms or compliance automation tools
- Exposure to privacy regulations such as GDPR or CCPA
- Experience in a SaaS or cloud-based environment
