Solen Software Group is hiring a Schematic Design & Visualization Specialist to create and maintain complex schematic and geographic visualizations for mission-critical utility control rooms. This is a contract-to-hire role where you'll provide practical input into product and visualization design based on hands-on implementation experience.
What You'll Do
- Create and update schematic and geographic drawings for mission-critical utility systems.
- Ensure visual outputs are clean, accurate, and aligned with customer requirements.
- Translate technical requirements into clear, effective visualizations.
- Write, review, and edit technical documentation and supporting graphics.
- Provide design feedback to product and engineering teams to improve visualization usability, consistency, and operator experience.
- Contribute input on layout, visual hierarchy, and interaction patterns to support effective decision-making in operational environments.
- Track labor activity and support internal reporting.
- Communicate directly with customers in a professional, clear manner.
What We're Looking For
- Advanced experience with Adobe Illustrator creating technical illustrations and scalable vector graphics.
- Working knowledge of CAD tools like AutoCAD, MicroStation (Bentley), or similar drafting software.
- Understanding of GIS fundamentals and geographic data visual representation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for documentation and tracking.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Nice to Have
- Associate’s degree or higher in design, drafting, GIS, or a related field.
- Formal coursework or training in visual design principles and spatial layout.
- Experience collaborating with product, engineering, or UX teams to provide design or usability feedback.
