OpenAI is hiring a Research Engineer/Scientist on the Future of Computing Research team. You will work with machine learning researchers and designers to push the frontier of model capabilities, training and evaluating state-of-the-art models to turn nascent research into foundational abilities.
What You'll Do
- Train and evaluate state-of-the-art models along axes important to our vision for future devices.
- Take nascent research capabilities and turn them into robust, foundational capabilities we can build on.
- Help define how software works for decades to come.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- A research background in utilizing and training language models to generate UI, and developing recipes to evaluate the quality and applicability of generated UI.
- A commitment to rigorous, science-based evaluation rather than intuition-based methods.
- Direct, hands-on experience teaching models to speak and perceive.
Nice to Have
- A love for exposure to a bit of everything, with a collaborative spirit for working with a hugely diverse set of research.
Team & Environment
You will join an Applied Research team within the Consumer Devices group.
Work Mode
This role operates on a hybrid work model and is based in San Francisco, CA.
