Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, document, and maintain dependable backend features, third-party integrations, and infrastructure across multiple services and environments.
- Assist in creating and implementing backend functionality for both existing and new platforms.
- Work with senior developers and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.
- Take part in assessing project viability and contribute to early prototypes with input from team members.
- Develop backend components with a focus on performance, code clarity, and long-term maintainability.
- Adhere to team standards and help improve test coverage, including post-deployment validation and load testing.
- Identify and escalate performance or reliability issues, working closely with senior engineers to resolve them.
- Enhance system observability by configuring alerts, dashboards, and log management.
- Assist in diagnosing and fixing production incidents with guidance from experienced team members.
- Record resolutions and share insights to improve team knowledge and incident handling.
- Support infrastructure management using tools like Terraform, ECS, and Lambda under supervision.
- Help maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines and suggest process improvements.
- Write clean, modular, and testable code using Django and testing frameworks such as Pytest.
- Participate in code reviews with a focus on learning and promoting code quality and collective ownership.
- Collaborate with team members to debug issues and deepen understanding of system design.
- Understand how backend systems contribute to product success and customer impact.
- Provide feedback that can enhance development workflows, code standards, or system performance.
- Clarify priorities and expected outcomes to ensure engineering work delivers measurable business value.
