We're looking for a Backend Engineer to work at the intersection of development and customer engagement, supporting the deployment and customization of our robotics data platform. In this role, you'll partner directly with technical teams at key customer organizations, translating their operational needs into scalable, production-grade integrations.
What You'll Do
- Work alongside customer engineering teams to understand system architecture, constraints, and objectives, then design tailored implementations that align with their goals.
- Develop full-stack solutions using Python, Node.js, TypeScript, and ROS, often deploying in hybrid or on-premise environments.
- Define project scope, deliverables, and success criteria for initiatives ranging from proof-of-concept to full deployment.
- Collaborate across Sales and Customer Success to ensure technical execution supports business outcomes.
- Bring real-world feedback into product and engineering discussions, directly influencing platform improvements and feature development.
- Document integration patterns, contribute to shared tooling, and help scale internal knowledge across the team.
What We're Looking For
- At least five years of professional software development experience with Python, C++, ROS, and Node.js.
- Proven experience in robotics, autonomy, or a related technical domain, with familiarity in distributed systems and real-time data workflows.
- Background in customer-facing technical roles, with a track record of delivering iterative solutions in collaboration with external partners.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), RESTful APIs, and database design.
- Ability to lead technical projects from scoping to deployment, communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences, and adapt quickly in fast-moving environments.
- Flexibility to travel for on-site engagements when necessary.
