About the Role
The position oversees post-award activities for research grants, handling financial and regulatory aspects, coordinating with principal investigators, and ensuring adherence to sponsor and institutional guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure alignment with approved funding
- Prepare and submit required financial reports to sponsors
- Assist in the interpretation of award terms and conditions
- Track project milestones and deliverables
- Support grant closeout procedures and final reporting
- Collaborate with research teams on budget modifications
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations
- Manage no-cost extensions and other post-award changes
- Liaise with sponsored projects office and accounting units
- Maintain accurate records of award documentation
- Provide guidance on allowable costs and cost sharing
- Track funding restrictions and special conditions
- Facilitate internal audits and sponsor inquiries
- Assist in resolving billing and payment issues
- Monitor effort reporting requirements
- Coordinate with compliance offices for regulatory oversight
- Support multi-year and multi-institutional awards
- Interpret sponsor policies and assist with risk mitigation
- Train research staff on post-award procedures
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of funding agency requirements
