Role Overview
This position is for a seasoned Physical IC Design Engineer focused on advancing integrated circuit development for high-performance computing applications. The engineer will play a central role in the complete physical design flow, driving projects from RTL input through final silicon delivery. Work centers on critical technologies supporting artificial intelligence, machine learning, and enterprise data storage systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end physical design processes including synthesis, placement, routing, and clock tree construction
- Implement and optimize floor-plans and layout architectures for performance and power efficiency
- Achieve timing closure using advanced methodologies and optimization techniques
- Conduct EM/IR analysis to ensure reliability and signal integrity
- Develop and refine design flows and automation scripts to improve productivity
- Collaborate closely with RTL design teams to align logic and physical implementation
- Perform physical verification and ensure compliance with manufacturing rules
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in IC physical design
- Proven track record in full-cycle design from RTL to tape-out
- Strong scripting skills in TCL or PERL
- Extensive experience with industry-standard EDA tools
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal
Work Environment
This is an on-site role located in San Jose. Remote work is not permitted. Compensation and Benefits
Base salary ranges from $120,000 to $192,000, with additional components including discretionary annual bonus, equity awards under company plans, and participation in the Employee Stock Purchase Program.
