Role Overview
As a Product System Engineer, you will take ownership of product engineering for networking systems within contract manufacturing production lines. Based onsite in Guadalajara, Mexico, you will act as the central technical point of contact, ensuring that manufacturing processes align with design specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product engineering initiatives across multiple contract manufacturing lines
- Collaborate with internal R&D, architecture, test, quality, and operations teams to resolve technical challenges
- Lead cross-functional task forces to investigate and resolve quality incidents and product failure modes
- Conduct thorough root cause analysis using failure data and diagnostic tools
- Oversee test yield performance across all test stations and optimize processes
- Own all technical aspects of test infrastructure, setups, and validation procedures
- Respond promptly and effectively to technical escalations from manufacturing
- Train and support contract manufacturing technicians and coordinate with CM management as needed
- Act as tier-2 technical filter for incoming issues
- Lead resolution of production gaps and ensure closure of all open technical items
- Perform regular audits of production lines to verify compliance with engineering requirements
- Analyze test logs using data analysis tools such as JMP
- Interpret and modify Python scripts for automated log analysis and diagnostics
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of four years in hardware design, system debugging, failure analysis, or product engineering
- Understanding of electronic manufacturing processes
- Experience with lab equipment, test setups, and troubleshooting methodologies
- Strong motivation to stay current with emerging technologies and failure analysis techniques
- Proficient in English
Preferred
- Prior experience as a test or product engineer
- Background in board-level or system design
- Familiarity with ICT and JTAG technologies or functional testing
- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Programming experience in Perl or Python
Technical Environment
Tools and platforms include JMP for data analysis, Python and Perl for scripting, and test technologies such as ICT, JTAG, and Linux-based systems.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role located at the contract manufacturing facility in Guadalajara, Mexico. The position offers hands-on engagement with advanced networking hardware and provides a comprehensive view of system-level design and manufacturing integration.
