About the Role
The Oracle Database Administrator will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of Oracle database systems, ensuring data integrity, availability, and security while supporting mission-critical operations.
Responsibilities
- Administer and monitor Oracle databases to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Perform database installations, configurations, and upgrades
- Implement and maintain database security protocols and access controls
- Conduct routine backups and ensure data recovery readiness
- Troubleshoot database issues and perform root cause analysis
- Support database design and development for new applications
- Optimize SQL queries and database structures for efficiency
- Monitor system capacity and plan for future growth
- Apply patches and perform version upgrades
- Maintain documentation for database architecture and procedures
- Collaborate with development teams on schema design and data modeling
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing
- Support replication, clustering, and high availability configurations
- Work with cross-functional teams during system integrations
- Manage user accounts and role-based permissions
- Track database performance metrics and generate reports
- Assist in migration projects between database environments
- Enforce change management policies for database modifications
- Provide on-call support for critical database incidents
Nice to Have
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification
- Experience with cloud-based database platforms
- Knowledge of automation and configuration management tools
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise databases
