Role Overview
Join a team responsible for maintaining the backbone of a mission-critical IVR and analytics infrastructure. As a Senior Cloud Database Administrator, you'll ensure databases remain secure, highly available, and finely tuned to support large-scale transactional and analytical workloads in the cloud.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Amazon Aurora MySQL and Amazon Redshift environments across their full lifecycle, including provisioning, configuration, patching, and upgrades
- Implement and monitor backup, recovery, and disaster resilience strategies to ensure data integrity
- Set up alerting, logging, and health monitoring systems to detect and resolve issues proactively
- Optimize performance for high-throughput OLTP workloads and complex ETL-driven analytics queries
- Respond to production incidents as part of an on-call rotation and conduct root cause analysis
- Enforce role-based access controls, manage user permissions, and support compliance with security and audit standards
- Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams on schema design, infrastructure changes, and deployment automation
- Automate routine database operations using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Support databases used by application services, ETL pipelines, and business intelligence reporting tools
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of hands-on experience as a Cloud Database Administrator
- Proven expertise with Amazon Aurora MySQL and Amazon Redshift in production environments
- Strong understanding of AWS cloud database services, high availability architectures, and disaster recovery planning
- Experience in performance tuning, monitoring, and alerting for large-scale systems
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix and shell scripting
- Track record supporting high-volume, mission-critical applications
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
- Willingness to participate in on-call support for production systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in IVR or contact center technology environments
- Exposure to ETL workflows and data warehousing concepts
- Experience with event-driven or analytics-intensive platforms
