Presidio is hiring a Migration Architect

Lead comprehensive cloud migration projects across large-scale enterprise systems.. Design and manage the transition of applications, data, and infrastructure to cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.. Ensure all migrations meet security, compliance, performance, and cost-efficiency standards.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed cloud migration strategies aligned with business and technical objectives.
  • Evaluate existing IT environments to determine migration scope and requirements.
  • Select appropriate cloud deployment models such as public, private, hybrid, or multi-cloud based on organizational needs.
  • Determine cloud provider options including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Define cost, security, and regulatory compliance requirements for cloud adoption.
  • Advise on establishing a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) to standardize cloud practices.
  • Develop comprehensive migration and transformation roadmaps.
  • Design cloud architectures that support scalability, availability, and performance demands.
  • Plan migration approaches including rehosting, re-platforming, re-architecting, and legacy system replacement.
  • Identify system dependencies and assess risks associated with migration activities.
  • Ensure optimal selection of cloud services in compute, storage, networking, and security.
  • Lead execution of migration plans with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, security, and networking teams to configure and secure cloud environments.
  • Oversee data migration, application refactoring, and integration with cloud-native tools and services.
  • Optimize workloads after migration for improved efficiency and reduced costs.
  • Implement security best practices such as identity and access management, encryption, and monitoring.
  • Apply knowledge of compliance frameworks including PCI, SOC2, NIST, HITRUST, FedRAMP, CJIS, ITAR, EAR, and others.
  • Support adherence to industry regulations such as ISO, GDPR, and HIPAA.
  • Establish governance policies for cloud resource usage and cost management.
  • Configure monitoring and alerting systems using tools like AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or GCP Operations Suite.
  • Continuously optimize cloud resources to improve performance and lower expenses.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions to enhance system reliability.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, developers, and IT teams to align cloud goals with organizational strategy.
  • Train internal teams on cloud technologies and operational best practices.
  • Report migration progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional or military experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the information technology field.
  • At least three years of hands-on experience with cloud migration projects.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings.
  • Proficiency with at least one major cloud platform—AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud—with relevant certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of core infrastructure components including compute, storage, and networking principles.
  • Understanding of virtualization technologies and experience with solutions such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Experience using cloud or on-premises migration tools and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills to design and explain complex infrastructure architectures.
  • Proven project management and client-facing communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-changing technology landscape.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team settings.

Nice to Have

  • Holding relevant technology certifications is a plus.
  • Five or more years in technology consulting, especially within a Big Four firm.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Highly self-motivated with a proactive approach to work.
  • Quick learner who adapts to change and takes initiative in mastering new tools for requirements gathering and management.
