As a Lead Mechatronics Engineer, you will direct the design and implementation of electro-mechanical systems for client initiatives, ensuring technical excellence from concept through delivery. You'll act as the primary technical authority on projects, guiding teams in hardware development while aligning with software and data science workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical execution on client engagements, serving as the go-to expert for mechatronic systems
- Design and validate electronic and mechanical components using MCAD and ECAD tools
- Conduct technical interviews and contribute to team growth through mentorship
- Collaborate with leadership to refine hardware engineering standards and delivery processes
- Support sales efforts by helping define project scope and technical requirements
- Deliver accurate estimates across diverse engineering domains and guide team planning
- Break down complex work into agile sprints, epics, and actionable tickets independently
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field, with at least five years of hands-on experience in hardware development. You should be based in the U.S. and demonstrate advanced communication skills—capable of leading difficult discussions, negotiating outcomes, and aligning teams under pressure.
Preferred applicants will have 10+ years of experience and an advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline. You must be skilled in low-level firmware, embedded Linux, microcontroller integration, sensor systems, and IoT protocols. Proficiency with prototyping tools—including 3D printing, oscilloscopes, and soldering equipment—is essential.

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary ranges from USD $120,000 to $150,000 annually, scaled to experience, with potential for up to 15% variable compensation in the first year. Additional offerings include a 401k match, comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, and a $200 monthly stipend for cell and internet services. After one year, you’ll receive a $2,500 annual allowance for continuing education. A $600 yearly stipend is available for home office equipment, and all necessary tools—including a MacBook Pro—are provided.
