About the Role

The BMW Group is seeking an Intern - Simulation, Tool Development and Validation of Thermosystem in Vehicle. In this role, you will join a team focused on the vehicle thermosystem, supporting the development and automation of our simulation toolchain for conventional and electrified vehicles.

What You'll Do

  • Support the further development and automation of our simulation toolchain at the interface of simulation, tool development, and method optimization.
  • Contribute to developing new functions for our tools using programming languages like Python or Java, from tool couplings to workflow optimization.
  • Collaborate in interdisciplinary teams using modern simulation tools like Dymola, Simulink or comparable software on future vehicle concepts.
  • Support the implementation of agile processes with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery to ensure the quality of our simulation results.
  • Analyze energetic relationships in the vehicle's thermal system, prepare results understandably, and derive valuable recommendations.
  • Work on tasks independently with regular feedback from your mentor.

What We're Looking For

  • Enrolled in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable degree program (Bachelor, ideally in the second half, or Master).
  • Good programming skills in Python or Java.
  • Initial practical experience with simulation software like Dymola, Simulink or comparable tools.
  • Basic knowledge of powertrain technology, thermal energy flows, and overall vehicle architecture.
  • High level of initiative, motivation, and enjoyment working in a dynamic team.
  • Good German and English language skills.
