About the Role
The consultant will design and execute the migration of legacy Informix databases to a current database system, supporting advertising operations with reliable data infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement database migration strategies from Informix to modern systems
- Analyze existing database structures and identify migration requirements
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency during transition phases
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate new databases with advertising platforms
- Develop scripts and tools to automate data transfer processes
- Monitor system performance before, during, and after migration
- Troubleshoot issues arising from database changes
- Document technical workflows and migration procedures
- Maintain data security and compliance throughout the migration
- Provide technical guidance to team members during implementation
- Optimize database queries for improved performance
- Coordinate with stakeholders to align migration timelines
- Assess risks associated with database changes
- Support testing of new database environments
- Validate data integrity post-migration
- Assist in decommissioning legacy systems
- Respond to operational alerts related to database performance
- Prepare status reports for project leads
- Ensure minimal downtime during cutover events
- Stay current with database technologies and best practices
