Panoptyc is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to act as the technical backbone of our R&D efforts. You will be responsible for translating research ideas into working systems, integrating with retail technology, and maintaining the infrastructure that powers rapid innovation.
What You'll Do
- Rapidly prototype new features and capabilities, turning research ideas into working systems.
- Design and implement integrations with various point-of-sale systems.
- Build robust Node.js services for data ingestion, processing, and API orchestration.
- Architect and optimize Postgres schemas for performance and scalability.
- Own deployment pipelines, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code for the R&D environment.
- Work closely with computer vision engineers, product managers, and customers to deliver solutions.
What We're Looking For
- Strong Node.js experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript, async patterns, event-driven architecture, and scalable services.
- Postgres expertise in schema design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
- DevOps proficiency with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), and infrastructure-as-code.
- API integration experience with REST APIs, webhooks, authentication flows, and third-party integrations.
- Full stack capability and willingness to work across the stack.
- Prototype mindset balancing speed with quality.
- AWS experience with services like EC2, Fargate, ECS, Lambda, Bedrock, Sagemaker.
- Frontend skills with Angular, React, or similar.
- .NET Core development experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience with POS systems (Toast, Clover, NCR, Verifone, etc.) or retail tech.
- Message queue experience (RabbitMQ, SQS).
- Time series databases or analytics infrastructure.
- Previous R&D or innovation team experience.
- Background in IoT or edge computing integrations.
- Experience with vector and graph databases, especially on Postgres.
