About the Role
The position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial data, preparing reports, and assisting with audits and budget planning activities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile financial records and accounts
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Support the development and monitoring of departmental budgets
- Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory financial policies
- Assist in internal and external audit processes
- Process journal entries and adjustments in the financial system
- Collaborate with staff across departments to resolve financial inquiries
- Track and report on grant expenditures
- Monitor account balances and spending limits
- Identify discrepancies in financial data and recommend corrections
- Assist in year-end closing procedures
- Manage documentation for financial transactions
- Provide backup support for payroll and accounts payable functions
- Participate in process improvement initiatives for financial operations
- Ensure proper coding of financial transactions
- Respond to financial data requests from administrators
- Support fiscal year planning and forecasting efforts
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
- Stay current with changes in financial regulations and policies
- Use financial software systems to enter and retrieve data
- Assist in training new staff on financial procedures
- Prepare documentation for audits and reviews
- Coordinate with external agencies as needed for financial reporting
- Track funding sources and restrictions
- Support compliance with internal controls
