About the Role
The engineer will provide on-site technical support for medical devices, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently in clinical environments.
Responsibilities
- Install, calibrate, and commission patient monitoring equipment at customer sites
- Perform scheduled and on-demand preventive maintenance services
- Diagnose and resolve technical malfunctions using diagnostic tools and procedures
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards
- Document service activities and maintain accurate service records
- Respond to customer-reported equipment issues promptly
- Provide technical training to clinical staff on proper device usage
- Coordinate with internal teams for parts and repair support
- Follow up on service requests until resolution is confirmed
- Adhere to company protocols for equipment servicing and reporting
- Maintain familiarity with updated firmware and software versions
- Escalate complex technical issues when necessary
- Support remote diagnostics and troubleshooting when feasible
- Ensure all tools and test equipment are calibrated and ready
- Work independently while following field service guidelines
- Meet response time targets for critical service calls
- Maintain a professional presence during customer interactions
- Track and manage spare parts inventory in service vehicles
- Submit timely service reports after each visit
- Participate in ongoing technical training programs
- Support quality audits and compliance checks
- Follow infection control practices in healthcare settings
- Report recurring equipment issues for engineering feedback
- Assist with product upgrades and retrofits
- Ensure secure handling of patient data in line with privacy policies
