The Field Service Engineer installs, maintains, and repairs advanced imaging equipment such as PET, PET/CT, and CT systems at customer locations. This position combines technical proficiency in mechanics, electronics, and software with strong customer service to ensure client satisfaction and ongoing contract compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform field-based installation, servicing, maintenance, and modification of PET, PET/CT, and CT imaging systems at customer sites.
- Regularly engage with customers to assess satisfaction, identify unresolved issues, and deliver prompt, professional support.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and management; share customer feedback, competitive insights, and sales leads with the appropriate account manager.
- Deliver real-time and follow-up technical support by diagnosing issues, developing repair plans, executing and verifying repairs, and providing basic training on instrument features and software.
- Respond to service requests promptly, ensuring on-site support aligns with contract requirements and customer expectations.
- Manage, prioritize, and schedule work assignments to meet both internal and external customer needs.
- Use technical expertise and independent judgment to perform system installations, troubleshooting, repairs, testing, refurbishing, maintenance, and validation.
- Document service calls accurately, including call type (down vs. routine), services performed, recommended parts, and design improvements.
- Follow all applicable regulatory guidelines and adhere to ISO Certification standards and company-defined processes and procedures.
- Meet established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as outlined in individual performance plans.
- Complete and maintain required training and certifications for supported systems.
- Follow Quality Management Procedures (QMI) and Work Instructions (WI) as defined by the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in electronics, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent military training (BMET).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with molecular imaging equipment, specifically PET, PET/CT, and CT systems.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Proficient in Cloud IOS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and CRM systems; expert-level familiarity with standard and metric hand tools.
