Lead Electronic Hardware Engineer position based in Santo Domingo, DR, focused on driving the electrical design and innovation of industrial control products. This role leads the full hardware development lifecycle—from concept through verification—ensuring technical excellence and alignment with market needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design initiatives for new product development and product line extensions, following structured stage-gate processes
- Perform schematic capture, PCB layout oversight, circuit simulation, and functional validation using industry-standard tools
- Collaborate with PCB designers to optimize board layout for signal integrity, thermal performance, and EMC compliance
- Conduct prototyping, debugging, and testing of electronic assemblies, including root cause analysis of hardware issues
- Supervise daily lab operations, ensuring safety standards and regulatory compliance are maintained
- Manage component obsolescence and implement design updates to maintain long-term product supportability
- Develop and review technical documentation, test plans, and verification reports
- Work with marketing and systems teams to translate customer requirements into product specifications
- Create and modify embedded firmware for microcontroller-based platforms
- Apply structured problem-solving methods, including Design for Six Sigma, to resolve complex technical challenges
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum of three years of experience in electronic system design, with focus on power electronics, microprocessors, and mixed-signal circuits
- Proven experience with schematic and PCB design tools such as Altium Designer
- Familiarity with simulation tools like PSPICE for circuit modeling and analysis
- Experience supporting manufacturing and working directly with production teams
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken
Work Environment
This is an onsite role located in the Santo Domingo Design Center. The position involves hands-on laboratory work, engineering collaboration, and technical leadership. No remote work options are available.
