AFRY is looking for an experienced Electrical Designer to contribute to complex building projects in Switzerland. You will join our Building Services & Environment Business Unit, playing a key role in designing electrical systems that power residential, industrial, and data center facilities.
What You'll Do
- Design low and high voltage electrical systems for residential and industrial buildings
- Design low and high voltage electrical systems for data centers
- Size sensitive high voltage systems using dedicated software such as Integra Excel or Schneider Electric
- Create detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD
- Develop 3D models using Revit within a BIM process
- Prepare principle schematics in AutoCAD for high voltage, low voltage, safety, and emergency systems
- Prepare multipolar electrical panel schematics
- Perform lighting calculations using dedicated software like Relux CAD-Revit
- Coordinate the work of junior designers
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or a vocational qualification in electrical design
- Proven experience in data center and industrial facility projects
- A solid understanding of technical concepts such as redundancy, control, and system integration
- Knowledge of Swiss and European standards in electrical systems, specifically SIA-EN
- Familiarity with CDE (Common Data Environment) management
- A deep understanding of the BIM process
- An independent and structured working style with flexibility for challenging projects
- The ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and coordinate project tasks
- Proficiency in English at a B2 level or higher
Nice to Have
- 8-12 years of experience
- Proficiency in Revit MEP
- Experience generating Bills of Quantities (BoQs) from Revit for bids and cost estimates
- Technical leadership potential with the ability to lead small teams
- Italian or German language skills
- Proven capability for effective remote and autonomous work in a distributed environment
