Role Overview
Join a forward-thinking team as a Data Engineer focused on building and optimizing end-to-end data systems that power business intelligence. This contract-to-hire position requires deep technical ownership of the data stack, from warehouse architecture to reporting automation, with a strong emphasis on marketing analytics and operational forecasting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of data infrastructure, including ETL pipelines, tracking systems, and real-time reporting solutions
- Design and manage integrations for tracking pixels, server-to-server connections, and event data flows to support digital marketing efforts
- Develop scalable data models and pipelines for performance monitoring across advertising platforms
- Build and refine attribution frameworks to assess campaign impact and guide optimization
- Serve as the primary technical contact for User Acquisition, resolving issues related to APIs, URL structures, and data consistency
- Automate workflows to increase team efficiency and reduce manual reporting overhead
- Partner with Marketing, Operations, and Logistics to deliver forecasting models for inventory planning across direct-to-consumer and marketplace channels
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in data engineering, ideally within eCommerce or tech-driven environments
- Strong command of SQL and dimensional data modeling
- Proven experience with cloud data platforms such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar MPP systems
- Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and data processing
- Familiarity with modern data tools including dbt, Airflow, and BI platforms like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI
- Solid understanding of digital marketing data flows, including APIs, event tracking, and pixel-based monitoring
- Experience integrating with platforms like Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, Google Ads, and Meta Ads
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Preferred Skills
- Experience with containerized environments using Docker or Kubernetes
- Background working across distributed, remote teams with asynchronous collaboration
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure beyond data warehouses, particularly GCP
