Controller Role Overview
As a Controller, you will lead the financial operations for a diverse portfolio of growing creative agencies. Your primary responsibility is to ensure accurate, timely, and audit-ready financial reporting while delivering actionable insights that shape business decisions. You're not just managing numbers—you're shaping how clients understand their performance and plan for the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle for 8–12 client organizations, ensuring precision and consistency
- Review deliverables from Senior Accountants and junior staff to uphold quality standards
- Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and cash flow reports on weekly and monthly cycles
- Create intuitive dashboards and management reports that clearly communicate business performance
- Lead client discussions by translating financial outcomes into strategic guidance on growth, hiring, and profitability
- Build trusted advisory relationships through consistent, clear communication
- Oversee onboarding of new clients, including system setup and process implementation
- Design and refine financial workflows, controls, and reporting structures to support scalable service delivery
Qualifications
Applicants should have at least 4–5 years of accounting experience with a solid grasp of financial statements, forecasting, and cash flow dynamics. You must be comfortable engaging directly with client leadership teams and approaching your role with ownership, not just task execution. A strong interest in applying financial data to real-world business decisions is essential.
Preferred candidates will have prior audit experience in public accounting and may be pursuing or hold a CPA designation.
