As a Consultant Ecologist, you will play a key role in delivering ecological services across large-scale infrastructure initiatives in sectors including energy, water, transport, and defence. Based in Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, or Dublin—with other locations potentially available—you’ll conduct field surveys, lead habitat assessments, and contribute to impactful environmental solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute habitat, botanical, and protected species surveys, including assessments for invasive non-native species
- Conduct desk-based studies and fieldwork, ensuring safe and compliant data collection
- Analyze, interpret, and present ecological data to inform project decisions
- Support the development of Ecological Impact Assessments and Habitats Regulations Assessments
- Design and implement practical mitigation strategies to enhance biodiversity outcomes
- Act as an Ecological Clerk of Works when required, overseeing ecological compliance during construction phases
