Oregon Department of Human Services is hiring a Compliance Specialist 1 (Limited Duration)

About the Role

The position supports regulatory compliance through detailed review, documentation, and evaluation of program operations to meet legal and policy standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular audits of program activities to verify compliance with regulations
  • Review documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Identify gaps in compliance and recommend corrective actions
  • Maintain records in accordance with retention policies
  • Assist in the development of compliance training materials
  • Respond to inquiries from oversight agencies
  • Prepare reports summarizing audit findings and outcomes
  • Track compliance issues to resolution
  • Support policy implementation across program areas
  • Participate in interagency coordination efforts
  • Evaluate program procedures against regulatory requirements
  • Monitor changes in laws affecting service delivery
  • Ensure data privacy standards are followed
  • Conduct on-site visits as needed
  • Facilitate communication between program staff and compliance officers
  • Document compliance processes and workflows
  • Assist in preparing for external audits
  • Follow up on compliance-related action items
  • Provide guidance on regulatory interpretation
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of compliance frameworks
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Use data systems to track compliance metrics
  • Report violations or risks to supervisors
  • Contribute to internal review committees
  • Ensure timely submission of compliance documentation

Compensation

Salary commensurate with experience and state pay scales

Work Arrangement

Hybrid work environment with both remote and on-site requirements
