What You'll Do
Act as a strategic partner to the CTO, transforming high-level goals into structured, measurable initiatives across Engineering and Data Science. Own the rhythm of operations by designing and leading leadership cadences, roadmap reviews, and performance tracking processes. Surface risks, dependencies, and inefficiencies early, and drive solutions with cross-functional teams.
Ensure consistent alignment between Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Business units on priorities, tradeoffs, and delivery timelines. Synthesize technical and business inputs to inform decision-making, and produce clear, data-backed materials for executive and board-level discussions. Contribute to long-term planning, including organizational structure and resourcing strategies, to support scalable growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field
- Minimum of five years in roles emphasizing execution, such as Engineering, Technical Program Management, or Product
- Proven experience in fast-moving startup environments with scaling technology teams
- Ability to engage meaningfully with technical teams—comfortable discussing architecture, systems, and data science workflows
- Track record of leading complex, cross-functional projects from concept to completion
- Strong sense of ownership and a bias toward decisive action
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience distilling complex topics for senior audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in building or refining engineering operating models
- Experience in SaaS or financial technology domains
- Exposure to management consulting or corporate strategy functions
- Willingness to work during Pacific Time hours
- Based in or near the San Francisco Bay Area, with availability for in-office collaboration
