This position is responsible for managing supplier delivery performance, tracking order responses, and coordinating schedule changes to ensure uninterrupted supply of critical components. The Buyer will monitor on-time delivery metrics, initiate corrective actions when necessary, and serve as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Track supplier order confirmations, delivery dates, and schedule adjustments, maintaining clear communication throughout
- Drive improvements in on-time delivery performance, particularly for high-priority commodities
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Marketing teams to align supply chain needs with business objectives
- Act as the main point of contact for suppliers, ensuring awareness of organizational requirements
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives and participate in purchase agreement programs
- Contribute to localization efforts by identifying and qualifying regional supply alternatives
- Assist sourcing projects as assigned, including supplier onboarding and performance monitoring
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required. Candidates must have at least five years of direct procurement experience in manufacturing or service environments. Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel skills are essential. Strong English language ability is necessary for effective communication.
Experience in contract negotiation, conflict resolution, and project management is preferred. Familiarity with strategic sourcing practices and supplier development is an asset.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role requiring presence at the company location on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with flexibility for remote work on other days based on business needs.
