Ackama Group was looking for a Business Development Manager

About the Role

As a Business Development Manager, you will shape and execute strategies to grow the business sustainably, focusing on both revenue expansion and client success. You'll take ownership of acquiring new clients, deepening relationships with existing accounts, and leading key sales initiatives to meet financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement growth strategies that balance profitability with customer satisfaction
  • Lead and mentor account managers, supporting their development and performance
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities through targeted outreach and client meetings
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to refine processes and close high-value deals
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, including cross-divisional and C-level stakeholders
  • Monitor sales metrics, revenue pipelines, and invoicing data to ensure accuracy and transparency
  • Act as a liaison between clients and delivery teams, ensuring feedback is communicated effectively
  • Analyze competitive trends and uncover opportunities to strengthen market position
  • Support recruitment and team development within the sales function as needed

Qualifications and Experience

Proven track record in software sales is required. Experience engaging with clients in the energy sector is an advantage. You should be skilled in strategic planning, relationship building, and leading sales cycles from prospecting to close.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role with a remote-first approach. You can work primarily from home, with optional coworking meetups available in locations across Australia and New Zealand, including Naarm/Melbourne and Wellington. Meetups are currently held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Culture and Values

The organization values authenticity, inclusivity, and ethical client service. Team members are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work, and the company actively supports diversity in all forms. Technology is viewed as a force for positive change, and decisions are made with care for people, sustainability, and long-term impact. The team supports production applications and prioritizes reliable service delivery.

All applicants are welcome, regardless of background. Even if you don’t meet every listed requirement, you are encouraged to apply. The hiring process respects candidate time and is committed to fairness and non-discrimination across race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, or national origin.
