About the Role
The engineer will build and optimize big data solutions, working closely with data scientists and analysts to enable efficient data processing and analytics at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement data pipelines for large-scale data processing
- Optimize data storage and retrieval systems for performance and scalability
- Collaborate with data scientists to support analytics workflows
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems
- Develop and maintain ETL workflows
- Monitor and troubleshoot data infrastructure issues
- Improve data processing efficiency and reliability
- Work with distributed computing frameworks
- Support real-time and batch data processing
- Integrate data from multiple sources into unified systems
- Implement data validation and quality checks
- Document data architecture and workflows
- Participate in code reviews and system design discussions
- Contribute to disaster recovery and backup strategies
- Evaluate new data technologies and tools
- Assist in capacity planning for data systems
- Maintain data security and access controls
- Support compliance with data governance policies
- Collaborate with engineering teams on data requirements
- Drive automation in data operations
- Ensure systems meet uptime and availability targets
- Contribute to incident response for data-related outages
- Work on data modeling for analytics use cases
- Support migration of data workloads to cloud platforms
- Help define best practices for data engineering
