Prolific is seeking professional Graphic and Visual Designers to act as Domain Experts in a high-level AI evaluation project. The role involves evaluating AI-generated design outputs for professional standards, readability, and structural integrity. This is a flexible, remote, ad hoc project where design expertise directly shapes how AI models understand visual design principles.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate two candidate designs (e.g., Google Slides, posters, or advertisements) on the same topic and determine which better meets professional standards
- Judge design candidates based on specific dimensions including readability, text density, information hierarchy, and overall professionalism
- Review 'before and after' style tasks to determine which AI output better satisfied a specific design edit or change request
- Participate in new, narrow experimental tasks aimed at refining how AI handles concise visual communication
What We're Looking For
- Formal education in Graphic/Visual Design plus at least 1 year of professional experience OR 5+ years of high-level experience working with professional clients
- Familiarity with industry-standard design tools: Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
- Ability to distinguish between 'consumer-grade' and 'enterprise-ready' content
- Must be comfortable with concepts and terminology associated with professional design software
- A critical eye for professional utility, readability, and structural integrity of design outputs
- Must provide a valid link to portfolio or work samples during screening process
- Must not use LLMs or other generative AI tools to complete onboarding or evaluation tasks
Nice to Have
- Experience in Interaction Design or Motion Graphics
- Background in Brand Building, Advertising, or Marketing

Compensation: Up to 30 USD per task, with paid tasks requiring up to one hour of uninterrupted work; many tasks are shorter.
