This position is responsible for managing critical accounts payable functions with a focus on precision, compliance, and operational efficiency. The role involves processing a large volume of invoices, verifying proper coding and policy adherence, and ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies through proactive communication with vendors and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Process incoming invoices accurately and in compliance with financial guidelines
- Reconcile vendor statements and investigate variances promptly
- Support month-end closing by preparing accruals and completing required reconciliations
- Respond to payment inquiries from internal departments and external suppliers
- Contribute to internal and external audit processes by supplying documentation and clarifications
- Identify and support process improvements within the accounts payable workflow
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
- Generate routine and ad hoc reports on payable activities
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff as needed
Qualifications and Skills
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, along with at least five years of direct experience in accounts payable. A solid grasp of accounting fundamentals, strong attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving abilities are essential. The role demands fluency in both Spanish and English, strong interpersonal communication, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience using ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle are required. Prior experience in a multinational organization is highly valued.
