As a 2D Character Art Lead, you will play a central role in defining and maintaining the quality of character artwork across the World of Warships franchise. You'll be responsible for producing detailed character portraits and concepts in realistic and semi-realistic styles, ensuring all visual output aligns with the project’s artistic vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-fidelity character art, including concept sketches and final portraits, using industry-standard tools and techniques
- Oversee and evaluate character artwork from both internal and outsourced teams, ensuring consistency and quality
- Deliver clear, constructive feedback that supports artistic growth and project goals
- Establish and maintain art guidelines, style references, and quality benchmarks for character design
- Collaborate with Art Directors and the 2D Art Manager to align character visuals with overall art direction
- Contribute to art reviews and production decisions with expert insight
- Mentor and support artists, fostering skill development and creative confidence
What We’re Looking For
- At least 3 years of experience in character art, with a minimum of 1 year providing structured feedback
- A strong portfolio showcasing character work in realistic and semi-realistic styles
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and a solid grasp of core art principles—lighting, color, anatomy, perspective, and composition
- Ability to uphold and guide artistic consistency across diverse teams
- Experience reviewing artwork and delivering actionable critiques
- Passion for character development and visual storytelling
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative environment
- Intermediate or higher English proficiency (B2 or above)
Preferred Background
- Leadership or mentorship experience with art teams
- Experience managing outsourced art production
- Familiarity with matte painting methods
- Formal art education or equivalent traditional art training
- Working knowledge of 3D software such as ZBrush, Maya, or Blender
- Experience integrating AI tools into art workflows

Work Arrangement
This role is based in Belgrade. During the probation period, attendance is required on-site. After probation, the position offers a hybrid model with three days per week in the office.
