The Victim Care Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting people impacted by crime throughout Greater Manchester. As the primary contact for victims, you will guide individuals through their recovery journey, offering consistent emotional and practical support while ensuring their needs are clearly understood and met.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of referrals from Greater Manchester Police, ensuring timely and compassionate engagement
- Conduct initial assessments to identify individual needs and risks
- Develop and implement personalised support plans using direct assistance, referrals, or advocacy
- Act as a specialist lead in one of the following areas: Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence, FGM, Children and Young People, Gangs and Knife Crime, Modern Day Slavery, Hate Crimes, Equality Diversity and Inclusion, Fraud, or Radicalisation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external agencies and community organisations
- Represent the service at local events, community centres, and partnership meetings
- Ensure accurate data collection, reporting, and administrative processes are consistently maintained
- Support the development of specialist knowledge within the team and contribute to service improvement
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience managing diverse caseloads with sensitivity and professionalism
- Specialist knowledge or experience in one of the specified safeguarding areas
- Strong assessment and care planning skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with victims and partners alike
- Experience in advocacy, signposting, or delivering support services
