Responsibilities
- Enforces company safety policies and procedures across all direct and indirect plant areas.
- Completes required safety documentation daily.
- Observes and confirms adherence to all established safety protocols.
- Takes appropriate corrective measures when safety violations occur.
- Maintains clean work environments and promotes safe work practices.
- Leads assigned staff in carrying out approved maintenance and production tasks.
- Tracks job progress and ensures accurate recording and reporting of employee time allocation.
- Responds promptly to emergencies within the fabrication maintenance area.
- Assigns mechanics to specific tasks, preventive maintenance, and work orders throughout the shift and monitors completion.
- Guides mechanics on optimal methods, materials, tools, and equipment for assigned jobs.
- Collaborates with peer supervisors on work scheduling and execution.
- Communicates deviations from the daily work plan to relevant team members.
- Collaborates with peers to determine best practices, materials, tools, and equipment for job completion.
- Recommends equipment for preventive maintenance programs and helps establish spare parts inventory needs.
- Secures peer approval for overtime before including it in shift plans.
- Follows daily schedules efficiently, minimizing waste of labor and materials.
- Meets technical specifications and quality standards for all assigned work.
- Completes all tasks assigned by peers.
- Ensures staff conduct aligns with company policies and work rules.
- Coordinates with other shift supervisors to ensure smooth shift transitions.
- Oversees training for general mechanics to maintain and enhance technical skills.
- Orients new employees and informs management of training requirements.
- Reports equipment failures or high-maintenance items to supervisors and engineering staff.
- Ensures no modifications occur without an authorized work order and communicates change details.
- Identifies and supports energy conservation initiatives.
