About the Role
The ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of trademark law, including prosecution, enforcement, and strategic counseling, and will work closely with clients to protect and manage their intellectual property assets.
Responsibilities
- Handle trademark clearance searches and provide legal opinions on registrability and use
- Prepare and file trademark applications with the USPTO
- Respond to office actions and manage prosecution timelines
- Manage domestic and international trademark portfolios
- Draft and negotiate coexistence and licensing agreements
- Monitor trademark databases for potential conflicts
- Enforce trademark rights through opposition and cancellation proceedings
- Advise clients on brand development and protection strategies
- Conduct due diligence in connection with corporate transactions
- Maintain docketing systems to track critical deadlines
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and recommendations
- Prepare legal memoranda on emerging trademark issues
- Support litigation efforts when necessary
- Work with foreign associates to manage global filings
- Ensure compliance with federal and international trademark regulations
