About the Role
This role is responsible for maintaining compliance with international trade laws and regulations through accurate classification, recordkeeping, and cross-functional collaboration to support global shipping and import/export activities.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret changes in international trade regulations
- Classify products according to Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes
- Prepare and verify export documentation for accuracy
- Support internal and external audits related to trade compliance
- Maintain records in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with logistics teams on shipment documentation
- Conduct compliance training for relevant departments
- Respond to inquiries from customs authorities
- Ensure proper licensing for controlled exports
- Track and report export data to regulatory bodies
- Assist in due diligence for international transactions
- Evaluate compliance risks associated with new markets
- Update compliance procedures in line with regulatory changes
- Manage restricted party screening processes
- Support the development of compliance dashboards and metrics
- Coordinate with legal and regulatory affairs teams
- Review vendor and supplier documentation for compliance
- Maintain export control classification records
- Assist in the resolution of customs clearance issues
- Ensure adherence to country-specific import requirements
- Participate in compliance system implementation projects
- Verify accuracy of commercial invoices and packing lists
- Support annual compliance certification processes
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in trade workflows
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of export control regulations
