Responsibilities
- Represent unaccompanied children in immigration court proceedings
- Conduct client interviews and gather case-related evidence
- Prepare and file legal motions and applications
- Advocate for clients' rights within the immigration system
- Collaborate with social workers and case managers
- Maintain accurate and confidential case records
- Ensure compliance with legal and organizational standards
- Participate in team meetings and strategy sessions
- Respond to court deadlines and scheduling orders
- Communicate regularly with clients and guardians
- Identify and address client trauma and vulnerabilities
- Coordinate with pro bono partners and external counsel
- Support policy and advocacy initiatives
- Attend trainings on immigration law and child protection
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and resources
- Monitor changes in immigration regulations and policies
- Assist in developing legal strategies for complex cases
- Engage in outreach to community organizations
- Promote awareness of children's legal rights
- Support efforts to improve legal access for minors
- Work within ethical and professional legal standards
