Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical authority for packaging engineering within cross-functional teams, guiding the qualification and production release of packages that meet rigorous mechanical, electrical, performance, reliability, and quality standards.
- Manage the complete package lifecycle from design through manufacturing, ensuring alignment between engineering teams, global production sites, and key stakeholders.
- Lead coordination with international factories and outsourced manufacturing partners to ensure scalable, high-volume implementation of new packaging designs and assembly processes.
- Collaborate with global packaging research and development teams to define, develop, and qualify next-generation packaging technologies aligned with long-term product strategies.
- Lead initiatives to improve assembly yield and reduce packaging costs across product lines by setting performance benchmarks and promoting best practices.
- Develop and maintain technology roadmaps for packaging solutions, manage associated budgets, and guide infrastructure development to support future product scaling and technology shifts.
- Oversee the ramp-up of new products from prototype to high-volume manufacturing, ensuring targets for yield, quality, and reliability are met.
- Ensure critical manufacturing controls—including FMEA, SOD, Control Plans, process recipes, and SPC—are established and validated before volume production begins.
- Provide technical direction in assessing and validating design alternatives through characterization testing and comprehensive DFX analyses such as DFM, DFA, and DFRW, shaping system-level product and manufacturing strategies.
