Platform Aerospace is hiring a Technical Writer to play a critical role in ensuring clear and concise documentation across our Engineering, Project Management, Operations, and Production departments. You will gather, analyze, and translate complex technical information into user-friendly materials that meet both internal and industry standards.
What You'll Do
- Create, review, and maintain technical documentation including user manuals, specifications, reports, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Translate complex engineering and technical concepts into clear, concise, and understandable documentation for a variety of audiences.
- Apply communication and interviewing skills to collect needed information from internal and external personnel to support writing activities.
- Conduct research on RFP technical and functional areas to gain a better understanding of materials to be written.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop technical specifications, SOPs, end-user manuals, and product insert sheets.
- Develop and maintain a content directory for documentation, ensuring version control, accessibility, and regular updates.
- Ensure all written materials are grammatically correct and maintain a consistent tone.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly content.
- Excellent communication and interviewing skills for gathering information from subject matter experts.
- Demonstrated skill in research, analysis, and synthesis of technical materials.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineers and project managers.
- Meticulous attention to detail in grammar, consistency, and document organization.
Team & Environment
This role reports to the Director of Quality Assurance and involves daily collaboration with teams across Engineering, Project Management, Operations, and Production.
