SNV was looking for a Technical report writer – Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) for the Ma and Neun/Ca River Basins - TDA Project

The Technical Report Writer will play a key role in producing comprehensive and technically sound documentation for the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) of the Ma and Neun/Ca River Basins. This position requires synthesizing complex data across multiple environmental and water-related domains, including hydrology, water quality, climate risks, land use, biodiversity, governance, and socio-economic factors such as gender equity and social inclusion (GEDSI).

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret technical data, analyses, and existing documentation to inform report development
  • Engage with consortium partners and technical experts to gather insights and ensure accuracy
  • Lead the drafting process for thematic reports in coordination with the project team
  • Produce initial and revised drafts based on feedback from internal and external reviewers
  • Participate in technical discussions to align methodology, findings, and reporting outputs
  • Adhere to established templates and quality benchmarks for all deliverables
  • Ensure all reviewer comments—from SNV, IUCN, Joint Technical Committee (JTC), and relevant government agencies—are fully addressed

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in writing technical reports on transboundary water systems and environmental management
  • Strong background in one or more of the following areas: water resources, climate change, pollution control, land use planning, biodiversity, or water governance
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and technical specialists
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work within a 30-working-day timeframe
  • Reliable track record of meeting deadlines: first drafts due 15 May and 12 June 2026; final versions by 29 May and 26 June 2026
  • Familiarity with standardized reporting formats and peer review processes

Work Arrangements

Work will be conducted primarily in Hanoi, Vietnam, with options for virtual collaboration. Limited parallel engagement in Laos may be required. The position operates under a hybrid model, supporting coordination across borders and institutions.

Compensation and Payment Terms

Payment will be disbursed in two equal installments: 50% upon acceptance of the draft reports by SNV, and the remaining 50% after final reports are approved, incorporating feedback from JTC and relevant government agencies. The assignment may be extended if delays occur due to external review timelines.
