Lead the evolution of developer experience for a platform powering realtime digital interactions. In this role, you’ll oversee a team of engineers dedicated to building intuitive tools, SDKs, and APIs that simplify how developers integrate realtime functionality into their applications.
What You’ll Do
- Guide and grow a team of engineers focused on developer-facing technology and tooling
- Design, develop, and maintain SDKs and APIs with a focus on usability, reliability, and performance
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to streamline developer workflows and remove friction
- Diagnose and resolve challenges across the developer lifecycle, from onboarding to production support
- Contribute to technical documentation and open-source projects to strengthen community trust
- Champion code quality, testing rigor, and observability standards across SDK development
- Engage with the developer ecosystem through events, public speaking, and community outreach
- Ensure a consistent, high-quality experience across all developer interactions with the platform
What We’re Looking For
- Professional experience building software with a focus on developer tools or platforms
- Strong coding skills in JavaScript and/or Python, with hands-on work in Node.js and API design
- Proven track record developing and maintaining SDKs and developer-facing APIs
- Experience leading engineering teams and mentoring developers
- Clear communication abilities across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with realtime data systems, distributed infrastructure, and messaging protocols
- Active participation in open-source projects or developer communities
Preferred Background
- Prior work in Developer Relations or Developer Experience roles
- Knowledge of realtime messaging platforms or similar services
- Full-stack or frontend development experience
- Public speaking or conference presentation experience
- Experience with observability tools such as Sentry, Prometheus, or Grafana
