Utopia is hiring a Technical Architect

About the Role

Shape the technical direction of boutique hospitality projects from design development through to construction in a fully remote role. We are seeking a skilled Technical Architect to join our multidisciplinary team, focusing on translating design intent into coordinated, buildable solutions for high-end residential and hospitality assets.

What You’ll Do

  • Advance designs from RIBA Stage 3 to construction, producing accurate Revit models and documentation packages
  • Develop detailed technical drawings, assemblies, and construction-level details that align with design goals and regulatory standards
  • Coordinate architectural models with structural, MEP, and interior disciplines using BIM workflows and Navisworks
  • Identify and resolve interdisciplinary clashes, proposing practical and integrated solutions
  • Build and maintain standardized Revit families, typologies, and detail libraries to streamline workflows
  • Support tender and construction documentation, ensuring compliance with codes, specifications, and local regulations
  • Lead the development of project-specific systems, including façades, roofs, and technical components based on material performance
  • Conduct quality assurance on models and drawings, identifying risks early in the process
  • Collaborate with procurement on material specs, quantities, and product compatibility
  • Stay current with evolving construction methods, building systems, and BIM automation tools
  • Mentor junior staff and BIM modelers, helping to shape department-wide technical standards

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Architecture or related field
  • 5–10 years of architectural experience, with a focus on low-rise residential or hospitality projects
  • Proven expertise in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation, building regulations, and technical detailing
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Portfolio demonstrating technical proficiency and design coordination

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced Revit skills, including parametric families, freeform modeling, and terrain
  • Experience with Rhino, Enscape, and complex BIM coordination

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position with a global team. You’ll be expected to attend daily meetings during CET working hours (9–17 or 10–18). The role requires a disciplined, detail-oriented approach and the ability to lead technical workflows independently while collaborating across disciplines.
