Lead the technical vision for a high-impact platform centered on content, social engagement, and live streaming. You will own the full lifecycle of core systems including social feeds, live video, voice rooms, and interactive commerce features, ensuring robust engineering execution across mobile, web, and backend environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end delivery of critical features such as content publishing, live streaming pipelines, real-time voice interactions, and monetization mechanics like gifting and red packets.
- Design and maintain the platform’s technical foundation across clients, servers, and admin systems, with an emphasis on scalability, maintainability, and operational resilience.
- Align user experience across platforms by working closely with Product and Design teams, using data to optimize key metrics such as stream latency, audio-video sync, interaction delivery, and conversion rates.
- Define integration strategies for third-party audio and video services, establishing clear interfaces, versioning controls, and governance to ensure continuity during transitions.
- Build comprehensive observability: define service level indicators, implement monitoring and alerting, conduct fault tolerance testing, and lead incident response to minimize user-facing disruptions.
- Lead and grow a multidisciplinary engineering team, establishing R&D practices including code reviews, automated testing, canary deployments, and rollback protocols to enhance quality and delivery speed.
Qualifications
Applicants should bring at least 8 years of experience in internet or social product development, with 3+ years managing technical teams. You must have a proven ability to scale core systems from early stages to high-volume production, with deep knowledge of real-time systems, distributed architectures, and cross-platform challenges.
Required expertise includes low-latency streaming, handling network instability, concurrency management, and state consistency in interactive environments. You should also demonstrate strong product sense—translating business goals into technical roadmaps—and a disciplined approach to reliability engineering using SLIs/SLOs, monitoring, and postmortem analysis.
Strong communication skills are essential for aligning cross-functional teams and external partners around technical direction and execution standards.
