Applied Intuition is hiring a System Validation Engineer - Autonomous Driving

About the Role

As a System Validation Engineer, you will play a central role in verifying and validating autonomous driving software across multiple test environments. Your work will ensure that system behavior aligns with defined requirements and safety benchmarks, both in simulation and on public roads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage test frameworks for autonomous driving functions, overseeing end-to-end execution
  • Partner with system architects and developers to interpret requirements and translate them into actionable validation plans
  • Conduct functional, regression, performance, and non-functional testing using HIL, SIL, and simulation platforms
  • Perform in-vehicle testing to validate real-world system behavior under diverse conditions
  • Review test outcomes to detect patterns, flag anomalies, and support root cause analysis with development teams
  • Ensure all validation activities comply with relevant industry standards and quality systems
  • Document test procedures, results, and findings in clear, structured reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Support release decisions by evaluating validation data and assessing system readiness
  • Contribute evidence and analysis to the product’s overall safety case

Qualifications

Applicants should demonstrate a solid foundation in automotive systems, particularly in ADAS, vehicle control, and embedded software validation. Strong analytical abilities and experience with testing workflows are essential.

  • Familiarity with HIL and SIL test environments
  • Hands-on experience conducting in-vehicle testing
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across software and hardware interfaces
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working in cross-functional settings

Preferred Background

  • At least 5 years of validation experience in the automotive sector
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262, ASPICE, or similar standards

Work Environment

This is an onsite role based in Tokyo, with a five-day weekly schedule centered on office collaboration. Occasional flexibility is supported, such as remote starts or early departures for personal needs.
