Lead the design, deployment, and ongoing management of System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) infrastructure within a large-scale enterprise environment. This role requires deep technical expertise in configuring and maintaining SCCM components to support critical operations including software distribution, patch management, operating system deployment, and system inventory.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain SCCM environments to ensure high availability and performance
- Deploy and manage software packages and security updates across distributed systems
- Develop custom scripts to collect hardware and software inventory from client machines
- Oversee testing and release processes for applications and system patches
- Install and configure proxy servers, transmitters, and deployment points
- Implement role-based access controls within the SCCM console for secure administration
- Monitor and tune the SCCM database to optimize performance and reporting accuracy
- Integrate SCCM with monitoring solutions to improve system visibility and response times
- Support application virtualization initiatives and image engineering workflows
- Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with operational needs
Required Expertise
- Minimum of 10 years in IT with at least 5 years focused on SCCM administration
- Proven experience with software packaging tools such as Install Shield, Admin Studio, and ORCA
- Strong background in OS deployment using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, Windows AIK, and SCCM task sequences
- Skilled in troubleshooting, designing, and optimizing SCCM infrastructure
- Comprehensive understanding of SCCM components including remote tools, inventory services, and deployment agents
- Ability to adapt quickly to emerging technologies and evolving infrastructure demands
Preferred Credentials
- Microsoft certifications related to System Center Configuration Manager
