AECOM is hiring a Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze structures, including buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure.
  • Prepare and review structural drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure structural integrity.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement structural solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and drafters.
  • Perform structural analysis using software tools and manual calculations.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Review and approve shop drawings and submittals.
  • Participate in project meetings and presentations.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation and records.
  • Conduct quality control and assurance checks on structural designs.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and cost estimates.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior staff.
  • Ensure that all project deliverables meet the required quality standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and review construction schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate with geotechnical and environmental engineers.
  • Ensure that all structural designs are sustainable and environmentally friendly.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and preliminary designs.
  • Provide technical input for project proposals and bids.
  • Ensure that all project activities comply with health and safety regulations.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in multiple structural analysis software tools.
  • Knowledge of international building codes and standards.
  • Experience with LEED or other green building certifications.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies such as PMP.
  • Experience with structural dynamics and earthquake engineering.
  • Knowledge of advanced structural analysis techniques.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or MATLAB.
  • Experience with structural health monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge of advanced materials and composites.
  • Experience with structural optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with BIM collaboration tools.
  • Experience with virtual and augmented reality in engineering.
  • Knowledge of parametric design and generative design.
  • Experience with digital twins and smart structures.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Experience with machine learning and AI in structural engineering.
  • Knowledge of blockchain technology in engineering projects.
