Role Overview

Boeing is looking for a Structural and Payload Design Engineer to work in Istanbul, Türkiye. This position focuses on the design and integration of aircraft interior seating and premium suites using advanced 3D modeling tools. You will play a key role in translating customer requirements into detailed, production-ready designs while ensuring compatibility with surrounding aircraft systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage CATIA V5 assemblies for aircraft seats and interior suites, including component positioning, constraints, and bill of materials (BOM) structure.
  • Conduct interference checks between interior installations and adjacent aircraft structures to identify and resolve spatial conflicts.
  • Generate model-based drawings (MDBs) that define installation requirements, hardware specifications, access provisions, and assembly sequences for manufacturing teams.
  • Support design progression from concept layouts through to final implementation, ensuring alignment with customer needs and engineering standards.
  • Apply design updates based on customer requests, certification feedback, and program changes, maintaining accurate 3D models and associated documentation.
  • Review supplier-provided drawings for compliance with fit, interface, and technical specifications, tracking resolution of discrepancies.
  • Maintain configuration control and data integrity using ENOVIA and PLM systems, ensuring full traceability of design changes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and program teams to deliver practical solutions and communicate technical risks promptly.
  • Apply drafting standards, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and best practices to ensure clarity across the product lifecycle.
  • Use analytical thinking to troubleshoot issues and support timely resolution within established schedules.
  • Ensure all work meets production timelines, quality benchmarks, and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related discipline.
  • Up to three years of experience in the aerospace or aviation sector.
  • Proficiency with CATIA V5 or equivalent 3D modeling software, including part design, surfacing, and sheet metal applications.
  • Strong command of English for effective communication in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards, technical documentation, and industry practices.
  • Advanced skills in Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Eligibility to work legally in Turkey.

Preferred

  • Proven ability to quickly learn and apply new software tools and engineering methods.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Background in documenting and improving engineering workflows and procedures.
  • Willingness to travel for training or project-related assignments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated analytical reasoning and mechanical aptitude.

Work Environment

This is an onsite role based in Istanbul, Türkiye, with no relocation support available. The position operates within a fast-paced, globally connected engineering environment that values early risk identification, adherence to standards, and continuous process improvement. Candidates must pass a conflict of interest assessment as part of the hiring process.
