About the Role

As a Street Lighting Engineer, you'll play a central role in developing technical designs and consultancy services for exterior lighting across complex infrastructure projects. You'll work on solutions for highways, EV-enabled parking areas, and other public environments, focusing on sustainability, energy efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical lighting design and consultancy for multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
  • Conduct daytime and nighttime lighting assessments and surveys
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand project goals and develop tailored, low-carbon lighting strategies
  • Produce detailed designs using AutoCAD, BIM tools, Lighting Reality, and electrical cable sizing software
  • Ensure designs meet National Highways and local authority requirements
  • Support project management, reporting, and quality assurance processes
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical development within the group
  • Promote sustainable practices and advocate for energy-efficient lighting technologies

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in exterior lighting and electrical design for public infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of lighting standards and the ability to apply them effectively
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM workflows, Lighting Reality, and cable calculation tools
  • Experience engaging with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies
  • Ability to contribute to multi-disciplinary teams and support project delivery on time and within budget
  • Commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainable engineering practices
